Dr. G’s path has always been shaped by a deep love for animals, hard work, and an early start in veterinary medicine. Growing up in Western Massachusetts, she began her career young—working as a teenager in a local emergency clinic while also competing as an equestrian on the East Coast. Long nights in the ER, early mornings at horse shows, and the responsibility that came from caring for animals at a young age set the foundation for her future as a veterinarian and leader in the field.

Dr. Gorman graduated from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY, with degrees in Neuroscience and Biochemistry, and competed on the Skidmore Polo Team. During her time in Saratoga, she worked in the emergency department at Saratoga Equine (now Rood & Riddle Hospital), caring for racehorses and high-level performance horses. It was an environment of intensity, precision, and teamwork—fueling her interest in sports medicine and rehabilitation. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where she focused on performance and rehabilitation medicine. After graduation, she returned to the Saratoga region to complete an internship at Oakencroft, strengthening her skills in general practice, surgery, geriatric medicine, and long-term case management. From there, her career took her through equine-only, mixed-animal, and small-animal practices throughout New England, each chapter refining her perspective and her dedication to whole-patient, whole-family care.

In 2018, Dr. Gorman became a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CCRP) and went on to open The Pet Rehabilitation Center in Boston. By 2021, she stepped into a managing-veterinarian role within a corporate practice—a position that clearly illuminated what mattered most to her. She saw how metrics-driven systems can drain the joy out of veterinary medicine and how the rising cost of corporate care is passed directly to clients. It reinforced her belief that independent practices play a critical role in preserving choice, compassion, and integrity in our profession.

In 2025, she purchased Bedford Animal Hospital from Dr. William Sofield with a mission grounded in purpose: to bring veterinary medicine back to a relationship-driven model—where medical decisions are made for the right reasons, not corporate ones. As a woman in veterinary medicine—an industry where women now make up the majority of the workforce but remain underrepresented in ownership—Dr. Gorman is proud to be part of the movement reshaping the profession. In recognition of her leadership and commitment to the future of the field, she was selected as the New Hampshire Veterinary Medical Association’s Emerging Leader for the 2026–2027 term, serving alongside the NHVMA Board to help represent the perspectives of independent practitioners and the next generation of veterinary leaders. She is deeply committed to supporting and mentoring women in the veterinary field and to building workplaces rooted in respect, collaboration, and the belief that leadership should be accessible to everyone.

In 2026, she will complete her Evidence Based Veterinary Acupuncture (EVBA) certification, continuing her lifelong commitment to expanding her medical toolkit for the sake of her patients. Her professional interests include:

• Performance and rehabilitation medicine
• Surgery
• Geriatric and comfort-focused care
• General medicine and long-term case management

Outside the hospital, Dr. Gorman is a dedicated greenthumb, an enthusiastic amateur glass blower, and an avid outdoorsperson. She spends her limited time off overlanding in a teardrop camper with her partner Brian, horseback riding, and chasing around their dogs, Emmah and Marty.

Dr. Melissa Watts grew up in Waltham, Massachusetts, surrounded by cats—an early influence that helped spark her lifelong love of feline medicine (and her well-earned reputation as a proud cat lady). She earned her undergraduate degree in Animal Sciences with a concentration in Pre-Veterinary Medicine from the University of Maine before completing her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University, graduating in 2014.

Dr. Watts began her veterinary career at Bedford Animal Hospital shortly after graduation and has been a cornerstone of the practice for over a decade. In a profession where long-term continuity within a single hospital is increasingly uncommon, her 10+ years at Bedford Animal Hospital have given her a deep understanding of the needs of both the animals and the families of the Bedford community. Known for her consistency, thoughtfulness, and steady approach to care, Dr. Watts exemplifies the role of an excellent general practitioner.

While Dr. Watts does not perform surgery, she focuses her clinical time on comprehensive medical care and diagnostics. She is particularly skilled at working through complex cases, carefully interpreting laboratory results, imaging findings, and clinical patterns to guide thoughtful, evidence-based treatment plans. Her strength in diagnostics, paired with clear communication and a calm demeanor, allows pet owners to feel informed and supported at every step.

Dr. Watts has a strong professional interest in preventative care and feline medicine and is Fear-Free Certified, prioritizing low-stress, positive experiences for her patients. She is also considering additional training in palliative and hospice care, reflecting her dedication to guiding pets and families compassionately through all stages of life.

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Watts is a self-described homebody who enjoys reading and quiet time at home. She shares her life with eight cats and three dogs and brings the same empathy, patience, and attention to detail from her personal life into her work every day—making her a clinician many clients have come to rely on over the years.

Heidi Broadley graduated from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine, her dream school, after spending 10 years working in animal sheltering at the MSPCA. Her time in shelter medicine inspired her to pursue veterinary school and continues to shape how she cares for her patients today.

Dr. Broadley's favorite areas of veterinary medicine include dentistry, nutrition, feline enrichment, and senior pet care. She also has a special interest in cardiology after caring for several of her own pets with heart disease over the years.

When she's not at the hospital, Dr. Broadley usually spends time with her husband and their very full house—12 cats and two very outnumbered small dogs! She loves visiting Jenness Beach on the New Hampshire Seacoast, trying new restaurants, reading, going to concerts, and exploring local trails while birdwatching with friends. She's also been taking gymnastics classes for the past few years and is currently working on mastering a front handspring. If there's a World Cup match or the Olympics on, there's a good chance she's watching—she proudly considers herself a part-time armchair athlete.

Dr. Broadley loves getting to know both pets and their people and enjoys helping them through every stage of life, from playful kittens and puppies to their golden years.
